Sharing information about a financial awareness and account opening camp
held at Punjab University
Union bank of India and NAB Delhi), With support from The RCS Positive
Abilities And Equal Opportunities Cell Of Panjab University Chandigarh,
successfully organized a one-day program dedicated to promoting financial
awareness and inclusion for persons with
disabilities. The event, held on May 27, 2023, at the Auditorium of the
Chemistry Department, Panjab University Chandigarh, witnessed the
participation of several visually impaired individuals, along with their
teachers, parents, and volunteers. The program also witnessed the presence
of Smt. Madhvi Kataria, IAS, Director of Social Security, Government of
Punjab, as the chief guest for the event.
The key highlights of the event are;
* Officials from Union Bank of India provided comprehensive
information on banks service offerings and digital channels.
* Bank officials addressed attendees' queries and facilitated the
on-the-spot filling up of bank account forms .
* Also demonstrated its unique accessible debit card called Union
Sparsh, specially designed to cater to the needs of the visually impaired.
The card features Braille dots for easy identification and a notch/cut to
assist users in correctly inserting the card into ATMs and POS machines.
* The attendees enquired about the health insurance and mutual funds,
information was provided about the banks third party tie-ups and bank
officials recorded the leads which will be closed in due course.
* NAB Delhi had also set up an experience zone outside the auditorium,
showcasing the latest assistive technological devices available for the
visually impaired.
