Namaskar!
Absolutely correct!
I remember about 4 or 5 years ago, I did write to Paytm regarding
accissibility issues and suggestions of fixing them. I don't know whether
coincidence or what, but Paytm did fix many of the issues.
At almost same time or a year prior, Inn our bank's (BOB) Android APP, (BOB
world, previously known as Baroda MConnect), Accessibility problems were
removed in single day after getting my feedback and suggestions. I worked with
our accessibility team for next few years, most of the problems got fixed, and
as time goes, APP changes with new look but most of its part is quiet
accessible. They still sometimes ask me about issues and fixes and I happily
contribute.
I also did write to Pockets APP of ICICI bank, they promised for fixes but did
not do anything. same happened with Airtel and Citi bank.
Similarly, we cannot forget contribution of our own Bhawanishankar Varma when
he challenged IRCTC. Likewise, Shri Vedprakash Sharma, Sadguru Rathi, Ajay
Minocha, Mahesh (not recalling his surname) and many many others always try
hard for accessibility related concerns of APPS and websites. Some person named
Aziz if I'm correct also took unique approach by starting petition about Swiggi
Accessibility issues.
In short, those persuing courts and taking other legal steps are appreciated
immensely, but at the same time, individual steps taken by members are also
commendable.
Lastly, it seems these collective approaches have started showing their results.
Once again, greatful for constant efforts taken by all.

Good progress. While people ike Kanchan, Amar and Rahul play a role in taking
matters to the court, what each one of us should do is spread awareness about
development and push companies to abide by the order.

Dear all,
In an order passed on 31.05.2023 by the Hon'ble Chief Commissioner for
Persons With Disabilities, Paytm has been asked to prepare a roadmap to make
its existing features accessible, conduct an accessibility audit, and ensure
that role-out of all new features have accessibility imbedded for all
categories of persons with disabilities.
This is for the first time CCPD has in its order asked any service
provider to conduct an accessibility audit as opposed to resolution of the
issues flagged by us. Hence this is a positive development.
This exercise needs to be completed in a period of 3 months. The order is
attached.
