Following is a brief overview of the training program.
ADVANCED ENABLING TRAINING CENTRE
FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED
(Venture by TATA Consultancy Services (TCS) & M.N.B. Industrial Home for the
Blind)
BRIEF OVERVIEW:
At present, there is no interface between the courses being offered
to the Visually Impaired (at various computer training centres) and the IT
Industry. There is a need to bridge this gap and offer industry relevant
courses which would make the VI employable.
TCS would provide the skill set to organize a month long training
covering the following modules:
MODULES:
Soft Skills
Skill set required in the BPO industry and building competency as per BPO
industry requirements.
Infrastructure Services (IS)
Testing with a special focus on accessibility testing.
BPO
Curriculum and Modules on BOP industry skills training
GHD
A complete module in Global Help Desk (GHD) covering aspects like Change
Request (CR) management, trouble shooting etc. shall be covered.
The theoretical part of Global Help Desk (GHD) shall also be covered.
FEATURES:
- Training would be more attribute based and shall focus on behavioral
pattern.
- Analytical skills, Customer Orientation, Communication would be some of
the components.
- An orientation on Career Mapping will also be given.
- The training would be application based and shall include practical
aspects.
- A session on System administration / Operating Systems to be included.
- An awareness session on various Microsoft based certifications that would
further help them in enhancing their skills in Infrastructure Services (IS).
- A small module on setting up I.T infrastructure for larger organizations
like TCS.
- Identification of certain applications which are common to all I.T
companies and providing a brief overview on these applications.
TRAINING DETAILS:
Training Venue: M.N.B. Industrial Home for the Blind,
Jogeshwari(West), Mumbai.
Training Timings: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday to
Friday)
Training Duration: One Month.
Training Faculty: TCS Learning and Training Division
Professionals.
Training will Start On: March 17th, 2008 (Monday).
FUTURE SCOPE:
This is the first (Pilot) batch and the successful candidates will be
immediately absorbed by the industry.
