Thanks for the query, dear Saravanan. Giving step by step info for the basic knowledge. Stock securities are a kind of participation in the company we by the stocks from. Companies need capital for their day-to-day activities. This capital comes from A. Individuals like owners, board members etc., B. Bank loans, C. Stocks or share money. Share is the capital general public invests in a company. Shares are more convenient than the bank loans because the former money is invested as a partnership in the company to the exact ratio of the invested money. Hence, companies ask for public partnership through public issues of shares. If you invest one lakh in a company of one crore, you are one % partner in the company. You are one % responsible in the loss as well as profits in the company. If company gets profit, you will be given one % of the same as dividend. On the contrary, if the company incurs losses, you have to bear one % of the same. On the basis of the health of the companies, shares keep on dipping or rising as the case may be. Hope you now have an idea about share markets.
