I carefully noticed that if I keep focus on the play/pause button at the time of starting reading, I can tap on it again to stop reading. But if somehow the play/pause button loses focus, I can't locate the play/pause button again. Talk back remains active. But it becomes unresponsive.
I may try voice aloud reader as Satguru suggested.
