Hello everyone, I hope you and your loved ones are doing well.
My name is Manjot Singh, a student pursuing BSc in computer science at the University of British Columbia. I am conducting research with my instructor and supervisor, Dr. Khalad Hasan, on images captured by the blind/visually imparied with the intent of sharing it for sighted assistance from friends or family. During taking pictures, we often accidentally capture something private, embarrassing or sensitive. We are investigating what is considered embarassing or sensitive information by the blind/VI community, how they would like to remove/hide these elements of the image without harming the usefulness of the image. We are looking for blind/VI participants for the study. The study itself will be a 1 hour interview conducted via zoom, and we will ask for your explicit consent at the beginning. We'll share descriptions of a set of images that we have curated from existing literature on similar topics. If you are interested, please reach out to me and we can set up a time that works for both parties. Warm regards, Manjot Manjot Singh (He, him, his) -- Disclaimer: 1.
