Reaching out to the differently abled, the Supreme Court for the first
time issued a braille copy of the inaugural programme for the two-day
‘National Annual Stakeholders Consultation on Child Protection’ that
concluded here on Sunday. That was not all, the event also had sign
language interpreters translating the various sessions on both days.
The top court has been quite sensitive on issues related to
differently abled ever since Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud
took office. Earlier the CJI had directed an audit of the court’s
premises to assess its disabled friendliness.
