Dear friends Women Gaining Ground (WGG) is a global consortium which aims to address sexual & gender based violence on (SGBV) & political participation of young women & women with disabilities. India is one of the main participants of this consortium and the program is run in four states of India – Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand & West Bengal. CREA, New Delhi is India's implementing global partner of this consortium. The strategic partners working in India are Gramonnati Sangsthan in Uttar Pradesh, Akhansha Seva Sadan in Bihar, YUVA in Jharkhand and Sruti Disability Rights Centre in West Bengal. >From the Women Gaining Ground Consortium, we will be observing 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence with various activities at the state level. As you are aware, 16 days of Activism have been observed annually from 25th November to 10th December since 1991. This global campaign is a call for collective action to end violation of human rights & gender based violence on women. To mark the beginning of this fortnight of campaign, we are organising a webinar named Access to Justice : Perspectives from Women with Disabilities. The webinar will be held on 25th November from 4 p.m. Language of webinar will be in Hindi with simultaneous English translation and Indian Sign Language Interpretation. The speakers are Prof Sanjay Jain, National Law School of India, Bangalore, Ms Pompi Banerjee, Psychologist & Gender Rights Activist and Advocate Sanchita Ain, Advocate on Record, Supreme Court.
