Dear all, National awards for persons with disabilities are announced yesterday.
Delighted to know that Deepsthamba foundation, Jalgaon, Maharashtra is winner of best organization category. Deepsthamba foundation is an emerging organization from my native place "Jalgaon" which works for Higher education and employment of persons with all kinds of disabilities. Their major contribution is to support persons with disabilities for preparation of various competitive examinations. Several of their students have qualified competitive examinations and appointed as officers in central and state government agencies of Maharashtra. Recently they have shifted to highly accessible campus where there have state of the art facilities for teaching and learning to persons with disabilities. Their they have accessible hostel, Accessible jim, Accessible Cafeteria, Accessible class room and auditorium, Computer lab, Accessible library qualified and Sensitive Staff etc. To my knowledge that is one of very few institutes in India which has accessible Digital services and Accessible Built environment. I personally believe that Really Deepsthamba foundation deserve. One must visit their fully accessible campus at Jalgaon.
