I know this is true because I myself fed in the text of Bhagavad-gita Chapter 2 Text 2. I chose this text because the first part is a statement “The Supreme Personality of Godhead said”. This should be spoken the way we speak statements, with a largely flat-lined intonation of speech. But the second part is Lord Krishna actually speaking a chastisement to his disciple Arjuna. “How have these impurities come upon you!” Etc. This is spoken with a significantly more energy in the speech intonation. The only way the TTS engine will know to apply this change in the specific way as to represent a chastisement is If it also understands what is being said and thus the mood in which it must be said. I promise you I did not make any of these changes to the speech output. I only copied in the text and did not change speech parameters between sections.
