Hi friends,

If you live anywhere in Uttar Pradesh, and you wish to use Internet banking to
pay your municipal account, I have learnt the following which I am sharing in
case it proves useful to anyone of us accessibility users.
Anyone with more experience please correct my findings or improve them if you
know better than this. I'm learning and sharing as I go along. Still brand new
at this in India.

A direct Login address to the portal is:
https://www.uppclonline.com/dispatch/Portal/appmanager/uppcl/wss?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=uppcl_loginreg_login&pageID=LR_002
Here directly you can select the Discom name, input your account number and
password if you created an account, and login. Before you login there is a
captcha to solve a sum of 2 numbers, but it is in a graphic that Jaws/NVDA
cannot normally see. It will show up in the virtual cursor as:
No description available. Graphic.
When your virtual cursor lands on that, route your mouse cursor to it (usually
Insert Numpad-Minus on both screen-readers), and right-click there (Numpad
Star).
>From the context menu that pops up, choose "Open image in new tab". Now with
>Jaws it is possible to OCR scan using Omni page (Insert Spacebar followed by O
>then W).
You will now need to navigate using jaws cursor and you should hear 2 numbers
read together, such as 94 or 73 Etc. Actually this really means 9 + 4 or 7 + 3
because there are only single digits to be added and the OCR does not detect
the plus sign inbetween.
>From this you can perform the sum of the two numbers, in our examples those
>would be 13 or 10 respectively.
With NVDA I haven't used it since working at Blind SA so I haven't followed up
if they have by now implemented OCR. If they do, try the same with the OCR
feature and let us know if you get similar results.

And that's it. Hit the Login button and you're logged into the account.
If you choose to make a payment from here you can choose payment type, such as
Internet Banking, UPI Etc and you should know the rest based on your usual
payment preference.

I hope this helps some of you out there.

Kind regards,
Yamuna Jivana Dasa
