Another aspect is there. As rightly said above it is an individual choice. But sometime some staff gets so accustomed to tips that they start making demands. Some persons who cant afford have to face bad reactions, nasty remarks,comments. So this aspect that it is not mandatory ,customary to give tips needs to be repeatedly stated somewhere for such staff to know it and not fall into a habit to pressurise people to give tips.
