Hello Mam, please share the download link for iOS
Sent from my iPhone Hi Saurav, Thanks for your question. Well, this is how Spacefelt works; besides giving a generic orientation of the area before you go there, it also prompts on where all you can find the QR label. Example, above the door knob, right-side of the reception table/counter, inside the washroom door, above the door knob, bottom left of a notice board or painting, etc. These are the standardization we are incorporating. However, we understand that that for the user, they may take time to get used to it, but the study we did with around 80 users, they got used to finding the QR labels easily once they kept using the app. Also, we are incorporating vibration and sound options to locate the QR labels. Hope this helps.
With regards, Aishwarya Hello mam, I have a question to ask. How will the blind person know where exactly the QR code is? Even if you give a generic location, won't you have to keep pointing your phone around to find the code and then scan it?
Regards, Saurav Student at Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce, Pune
Hi All, Some of you here may already know about Spacefelt. We've developed the Spacefelt smartphone app, which we integrate with QR labels to help label personal belongings for individuals with visual impairment. Additionally, for public use, we've made efforts in enhancing accessibility in physical spaces by affixing acrylic Spacefelt labels within various premises. The data associated with these labels is accessible via the Spacefelt app, enabling users to download the information beforehand. This includes generic spatial orientation details and the locations of QR labels, such as above door knobs, to the right of reception/counters, or at the bottom left of paintings and notice boards. Importantly, once downloaded, users can access this information offline, eliminating the need for internet connectivity during real-time scanning. We've collaborated with several organisations to implement this technology, including the LV Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad, Purple Fest 2023, Dr. BRR Degree College in Hyderabad, the Museum of Possibilities event, and the Assistive Technology Conclave in Tirunalveli, among others. Currently, we're extending our efforts to engage with corporates, educational institutions, art galleries, museums, restaurants, and transport services to integrate Spacefelt into their spaces. We're reaching out to you all in case you or anyone you know might be interested in making your institutions/organizations more accessible. If so, please do message me. For a clearer understanding of how Spacefelt functions, I've provided audio samples below: 1. Washroom: https://youtu.be/SFBjVdSzB-k 2. Menu Card: https://youtu.be/SsUx-ig91WQ 3.
