Call for participants in Research on Disability and Workplace Experiences

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
My name is Amar Pawar, a PhD research candidate at the Centre for Political
Studies (CPS) at JNU, New Delhi. My current research focuses on how people
with disabilities engage with stakeholders (government, non-governmental
organizations, and private companies) in areas like higher education,
employment, and disability policies. I have received ethical approval from
the Institutional Ethics Research Board (IERB) from my institution, to
conduct this research.
I am seeking individuals with disabilities currently employed in the public
or private sector to participate in in-depth, one-on-one interviews (Online
through Google Meet or Zoom or WhatsApp call or Offline (for participants
from Delhi as per their convenience). Through these interviews, I aim to
understand the everyday workplace barriers you encounter, such as those
related to infrastructure, attitudes, and resource related and your
navigation through it.

Confidentiality is assured. Your name and any other identifying information
with you will be anonymized to protect your privacy and confidentiality as
guided by ethical research principles.

About Me:
I am a Person with Disability (Low Vision) myself. My interest in this
research stems from my personal experiences and involvement with various
Disabled People's Organizations (DPOs). I have actively participated in
discussions on disability rights, including the 2024 election disability
manifesto at National Disability Network (NDN) meetings. Additionally, I
have worked with universities and colleges to promote inclusivity and
accessibility.

Who can Participate?
I welcome people with diverse disabilities (both government-recognized and
self-identified) who work in various sectors, both public and private.
While the following is not an exhaustive list, it provides some examples of
potential employers employing Persons with Disabilities:
• Public Sector: Central and State governments (Group A, B, and C
positions), Public Banking Sector (clerical and officer cadres), Railways
(various cadres and positions).
• Private Sector: Multinational companies, Self-employed individuals,
Medium and small-sized enterprises employing PwDs, professional job holders
working with companies or independently such as Lawyers, Doctor’s, Teaching
faculties in school and colleges, Engineers etc

if you are not a resident of Delhi city as per your convenience.
