Dear Sir/Madam, We are going to organise a meeting to remember Charu Bose, the physically challenged martyr, at Indumati Sabhagriha, Jadabpur University (near gate no. 3 at Bengal Lamp Bust Stop) on March 19, 2008 at 3 PM. An active member of the famous Anusheelan Samity and a close associate of the revolutionary leader Bagha Yateen, Charu Bose shot dead Ashu Biswas, the government prosecutor whose involvement in the historical Alipur Bomb Case was responsible for the severe punishment of many revolutionaries. He had lost his right hand in an accident. He tied a revolver to the injured hand and used his other hand to push the trigger. He had ample opportunity when he killed the notorious prosecutor inside the crowded Alipur Court premises, but he surrendered himself to the police to use the trial as a platform for raising his voice against the British rule. Charu Bose was hanged by the British government on March 19, 1909. You are earnestly solicited to attend the said meeting and pay tribute with us to this martyr on his death anniversary who set before the society an example in spite of his physical limitations. Yours faithfully, Buddhadeb Sikdar Blind Persons' Association 10/2 Samsul Huda Road Kolkata--700017 Phone: +9133 22903379, +9133 24377206, +91 Web: www.bpa.org.in To unsubscribe send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the subject unsubscribe.
