Hello Rahul,

Congratulations to you for the achievement. Please also make sure that all
branches provide these facilities. A friend of mine in Kolkata has been refused
ATM card due to his blindness. Is there any number where he can contact for the
facility?

Many branch managers of different banks in West Bengal still deny ATM cards and
cheque facilities to blind customers. Is it possible to start a common helpline
for all such cases?

With best regards,

Subject: [AI] Exciting Developments in Inclusive Banking - Join Us in
Celebrating Progress!

  Dear List,

As we celebrate Disability Pride Month, I extend greetings to one and all.

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you about the strides being
made in the area of inclusive and accessible banking. In the past, we have
highlighted several initiatives at Union Bank that have empowered our visually
impaired workforce and customers at large. These initiatives are creating a
positive ripple effect across the banking industry. It's a privilege for us to
be at the forefront of inclusive banking and to witness the industry-wide
impact of our work. Here are some recent developments that fill us with immense
joy and pride:

  1. Accessible Debit Card: Two years ago, Union Bank of India launched the
accessible debit card, Union Sparsh, which received an overwhelmingly positive
response from the community. Inspired by this innovation, Punjab National Bank
(PNB) has now designed their own accessible card offering, Antar Drishti. This
card features a notch and the letters PNB in Braille, making it easier for
visually impaired individuals to use.

  2. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for JAWS: On May 29, 2024, we informed
you about the issuance of SOPs for providing JAWS software to visually impaired
staff members at Union Bank of India. We are delighted to share that in June
2024, PNB unveiled a similar SOP for its employees. This initiative will
empower thousands of PNB employees, fostering an inclusive work environment.

  3. Union Bank of India's Integrated Annual Report 2023-24: As part of its
annual exercise, the Bank has released its integrated annual report for the
financial year 2023-24. This report, available on the Bank's website,
highlights the strategic and structural initiative, Union Access, along with
other crucial information about financial inclusion. You can access the report

These milestones are cause for celebration, as they underscore the Bank's
role as a pioneer in inclusive banking. We must acknowledge and applaud the
community members who are championing these changes within their organizations
as staff members.

Through this communication, we encourage all colleagues in the BFSI sector to
advocate for innovative solutions that enhance banking services for the
community. Prashant Naik and myself are always available to provide guidance
and support as we co-create inclusive and innovative banking services for
everyone.

  With regards

  Rahul Gambhir
