on the jaws: 1. press control shift o to bring the list of images. 2. use the arrow keys and enter on the image which you want to edit the alt text. 3. press shift f10 or applications key and press down arrow till you get view alt text. 4. if you have the content handy, just paste it and press escape key or if you wish to generate the alt text press tab on generate alt text and hit enter. verify the text and press escape and if any correction needed just edit them and press escape.
