accent.gmu.edu

Today’s resource is all about accents. The site has
QuickTime recordings of people from all over the
globe, individually reading out the same paragraph of
text. The archive, which was constructed as a teaching
and research tool, is meant to be used by linguists
and those who are interested in various accents. Check
it out: The Web site also allows users to compare the
demographic and linguistic backgrounds of the speakers
in order to determine which variables are key
predictors to each accent.
