What is GNU GPL?
GNU GPL (or) more specifically GPL is the one of the
most prominent free software licenses available
around. GPL stands for General Public License. GPL is
a copyleft license that permits usage and modification
of the software itself by the derived works; provided
the derived also extend the same freedom, and make
them available under the same copyleft.
GPLv3 (version 3) is the latest version of GPL and was
introduced in late 2005.
