On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) 2024, we are
excited to share the impactful steps we have taken to foster inclusion and
accessibility. Through a variety of initiatives, we have reinforced our
commitment to creating an environment that values diversity and ensures
accessibility for all.

1.      On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities
2024, an impactful video with Indian sign language on Union Bank of India's
WhatsApp Banking channel UVConn was unveiled on Banks social media channels
This initiative demonstrates accessible communication with ISL and closed
captions to educate hearing-impaired community to seamlessly access Bank's
WhatsApp Banking, which offers over 66 banking services by using chat

2.      A special message from our MD & CEO was shared with all employees,
emphasizing the importance of inclusion and accessibility as a core value of
the organization. This inspiring message encouraged everyone to champion the
cause of inclusivity in their roles.
3.      A vibrant social media campaign was launched to celebrate the spirit
of inclusion and accessibility. Posts highlighting key initiatives,
milestones, and the achievements of individuals like Ms. Chhonzin Angmo
showcased our commitment to breaking barriers.
4.      A daily email series has been initiated, focusing on various
disabilities recognized under the RPwD Act, 2016. These communications
provided insights, challenges, and practical steps to foster inclusivity.
5.      An engaging mandatory online quiz is being conducted through out the
month to raise awareness about accessibility and deepen understanding among
bank employees.
6.      Accessible and insightful e-learning courses are made available to
enhance knowledge and skills related to disability and inclusion.
7.      New resources, including an updated informational booklet, a
dedicated accessibility corner, and a product demo video in Indian Sign
Language (ISL), were introduced to promote inclusive communication.
8.      Disability awareness sessions through dark room experience provided
a transformative experience for participants, helping them understand the
importance of inclusion from a new perspective.
9.      A thought-provoking panel discussion with senior leaders and experts
explored challenges and actionable solutions for promoting accessibility in
the workplace.
10.     A campaign to submit suggestion for the empowerment for person with
disabilities was conducted for all staff members. 

At Union Bank of India, we are building a culture of inclusion where every
individual is valued and empowered. This culture goes beyond compliance-it
is about creating meaningful opportunities, fostering mutual respect, and
celebrating diversity as a strength. By embracing inclusivity, we are not
only enriching our workplace but also strengthening our bond with the
communities we serve. Together, we are driving change and creating a future
where accessible and equitable banking is a reality for everyone.
