Impaired Users Overview For blind or vision-impaired users, visual access to the screen isn’t always necessary. In fact, privacy can be a bigger concern. The Screen Curtain feature in NVDA allows users to completely black out their screen, ensuring privacy and security from prying eyes.
How to Enable Screen Curtain You can activate Screen Curtain in two ways: • Through Settings: Go to the Vision category in NVDA settings. • Using a Shortcut: Press NVDA + Control + Escape • Press once to enable it until NVDA restarts. • Press twice to keep it enabled until manually turned off. Important Considerations • While Screen Curtain is active, OCR scanning and screenshot capturing may not function properly. • Requires NVDA 2021.2 or later to work with Windows 10 21H2 and newer versions (due to Windows Magnification API changes). • If Windows Magnifier is running with inverted screen colors, Screen Curtain cannot be enabled. Conclusion This feature offers a secure and distraction-free experience, allowing blind or vision-impaired users to work with confidence, without concerns about on-screen privacy. -- With regards, [image: NAB Delhi has campus in R.K.
