Well articulated. A perspective often over We need both but you are right,
people stop with the motivation.looked.

As a person with visual impairment blind), I can say that whenever someone from
a marginalized community — such as Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes
(ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), or
Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) — achieves success, society often uses their
story purely as a source of motivation rather than addressing the underlying
ground realities.

Because of this behavior, individuals from marginalized communities often face
pressure from society: "If he or she has done it, why can't you?" Whenever
someone from a marginalized background raises genuine concerns, society
dismisses them by saying things like, "He/she cleared the UPSC," "He/she
climbed a mountain," "He/she won medals in the Paralympics," or "He/she founded
a multi-crore industry."

Basically, society uses the success stories of a few as motivational examples
instead of working to solve real, systemic issues.

When a marginalized person raises genuine concerns before the authorities, the
authorities often resort to manipulation tactics instead of addressing the
actual problems. They respond by saying, "Someone from your community has
succeeded — he/she did this and that — so why can't you?" This turns into a
blame game, where instead of solving ground-level issues, authorities hide
behind motivational speeches, citing a few success stories from marginalized
communities.

I am not saying we should not celebrate success stories — we absolutely should.
However, I am completely against only highlighting successes while remaining
silent about the challenges and systemic barriers that successful individuals
had to overcome.

Many of these issues would not exist if laws, guidelines, rules, and
regulations were properly implemented at the ground level. But instead,
authorities often focus only on showcasing success stories while ignoring the
necessary work of improving conditions for others. They selectively remove the
challenges faced by successful individuals from the narrative to suit their
convenience.

The situation becomes worse when society highlights a person’s achievements
purely for motivation, without any willingness to address the real, underlying
issues.

If we truly want to bring about improvement, the first step is to acknowledge
the problems — and the second is to work sincerely to fix them.
