Sharing my initial thoughts and a brief comparison on this new offering from Meta. Now, with the launch of the Oakley Meta HSTN, Meta has expanded its offering with a new generation of performance-focused AI eyewear that promises even greater functionality, especially for those with active lifestyles or specific accessibility needs. Developed in collaboration with Oakley, the Meta HSTN glasses represent a shift from fashion to function. While the Ray-Ban Meta glasses focused more on lifestyle and casual use, the Oakley Meta HSTN is purpose-built for athletes, runners, and outdoor enthusiasts. The most noticeable upgrade is the 3K front-facing camera, which captures high-resolution photos and videos with remarkable clarity—far superior to the 1080p camera in the Ray-Ban model. This is especially useful when you want to document something visually and need crisp detail, whether it’s reading a noticeboard from a distance or sharing a real-time view with someone during navigation.
