Dear SUBRAMANI,

I understand your fondness for Outlook Express, and it's a sentiment shared by
many who appreciated its straightforward design. However, I must inform you
that Outlook Express 6 is no longer supported by Microsoft.

The reason you are experiencing compatibility issues with JAWS 19+ and NVDA is
because Outlook Express was last updated to work with Windows XP. The
technology for both operating systems and screen readers has advanced
significantly since then. Modern versions of screen readers are designed to
work with current applications, not with software that has been unsupported for
over a decade.

Continuing to use Outlook Express would not only be frustrating from an
accessibility standpoint but would also expose your computer to significant
security risks. Because it no longer receives security updates, it is
vulnerable to viruses, phishing attacks, and other malicious software that have
emerged in the years since its discontinuation.

While it's understandable that you miss the "luxury" of Outlook Express, there
are modern email clients that offer similar user-friendly experiences while
being fully accessible and secure. You're already using Thunderbird, which is a
great choice and is widely regarded for its accessibility features. Both JAWS
and NVDA have been developed with modern email clients in mind, so you should
find that they work seamlessly with current versions of Thunderbird, as well as
with other popular clients like Windows Mail and the latest versions of
Microsoft Outlook.

I hope this helps explain the situation. The move to a modern email client is
the best way to ensure both your security and a fully accessible experience.

Subject: [AI] Outlook express quiery

Anyone using oe6 with latest JAWS? I am unable to use oe6 with jaws 19 and
above. Whenever I use jaws with oe, jaws doesn't read anything. Even the
latest NVDA doesn't read anything while in oe6. Although I am using
thunderbird, I really miss the luxury of using oe. So If anyone is still
using oe with jaws successfully, please reply. (P. SUBRAMANI)
