Hello everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. I’m excited to share something very
close to my heart. At First Drop Theatre, a Bangalore-based theatre
company, we’ve been creating a play titled Reunion—a story about
disabilities, friendships, and identities. This September, we’re thrilled
to bring it to life on stage in Bangalore.

About Reunion
Set in a small coastal town, Reunion is a moving exploration of friendship,
identity, and the intersectionality of disability. Across one stormy
weekend, four childhood friends – Dan (a paraplegic artist), Sunil (a
former athlete who lost an arm), Anjali (a blind IT professional), and
Vishal (a software engineer living with chronic depression) – reunite to
confront the physical and emotional shifts life has dealt them. Through
nostalgia, humour, and tension, the story highlights challenges of both
visible and invisible disabilities, access, tokenism, gender, and
stigma—offering an honest portrayal of resilience and understanding.

What makes this play truly unique is its cast and crew. Every role is
performed by people with disabilities, with music composed by me—a 100%
visually impaired artist.

Nothing about us, without us. That belief fuels Reunion, and we bring it
wholeheartedly to the stage. The performance will be staged in a
wheelchair-accessible venue and will include Indian Sign Language
interpretation along with a first-of-its-kind live audio description.

📅 September 20th, 5:30 PM
📍 Bangalore International Centre (BIC)
⏳ Duration: 2 hours
🎟️ Tickets: https://shorturl.at/uCvP6
or via UPI: 9886185008@ptsbi (mention 'Reunion')

Reunion brings stories of disability, identity, and inclusion to life with
authenticity and nuance. Drawn from lived experiences, it opens up
much-needed conversations on mental health, systemic gaps, access, gender,
and policies versus practice—woven together through friendship and humour.

And because we believe the conversation must go further, the play will be
followed by a panel discussion featuring leaders with disabilities and
allies from the disability sector.

After months of writing, rehearsing, and dreaming, it’s time for Reunion to
meet its audience. I warmly invite those in Bangalore to join us on
September 20th and request friends outside the city to help us by spreading
the word and sharing your support.
