I have noted your feedback and forward to relevant people. Earlier this app itself was inaccessible.Let me make it clear: I am a student with visual impairment (blind). I do not work for any Sugamya Bharat MOU partner nor am I associated with the Sugamya Bharat Team. Yet, for the last more than 2 years, I’ve been consistently working to make the Sugamya Bharat App accessible for Persons with Disabilities. Ironically, the app — developed in 2020 by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities to address accessibility issues in infrastructure, digital services, and transport — remains inaccessible in 2023. To push for change, I’ve: • Made 50+ posts on Twitter/X • Spoke about it on CH20’s G20 program • Highlighted it in the Lokmat newspaper • Sent multiple emails • Gave the app a lower Play Store rating • Engaged with the app’s original developers • Registered complaints on the eDistrict portal • Informed and mobilized friends to raise their voices on Twitter/X I even called Shri Rajesh Aggarwal sir (Secretary, DEPwD), who assured that an MOU would be signed to address the issue. This was just before the Radio Udaan Convention last year. He confirmed the same during the event, citing heavy complaints on Twitter/X. I shared the MOU update widely. But even after it was signed, improvement stalled. I continued to put pressure — and now, finally, things are slowly improving. No one has raised this issue more consistently than me.
