Hi I've seen many conversations doing the rounds related to denial of insurance in some form or the other. I've recently been stone world as well, so I thought I'll check if anyone knows how to work around this. I have a base medical insurance policy with Oriental insurance for a while now. I thought I would add to this and went through my agent about the same. He approached ICICI Lombard for a top up and told me I would receive a verification call from them. The verification call was standard, checking of all the check boxes about my medical history-none of which has anything to report. I told them that I was blind and had been for over 30 years and had a certificate to prove the same. Their conversation with my agent asked about recent consultations with an ophthalmologist, which I don't need since I'm blind and none of that is going to change. In the end, they sent me a rejection letter telling me that this was not because of my health status, but the underlying medical policy of the company. Of course, they were generous and offered me something else that would be Taylor made to suit my requirements, which I know what they will do with. What I want to ask, is has anyone face this situation as well? He is now waiting for Oriental insurance to give us their verdict. I haven't heard back so far. In the meantime, irritated with this whole situation, I thought I'd ask experts here. Thanks Payal
