Hi,

This is a call to bankers on the list and to those on the list involved with
advocacy work based in Delhi. The Supreme Court, the High Courts, the CCPD
etc have given their rulings directing banks and Financial Institutions to
comply with accessibility norms when it comes to all their digital
platforms. DFS and RBI have issued guidelines towards accessibility but many
of the banks have been slow to comply.

We were wondering if there is something else that we as stakeholders can do
to speed up the compliance. We are planning a Round Table meeting to
brainstorm on possible way forward to help with the speedy implementation of
the accessibility norms. Those who have ideas, who have taken up initiatives
towards this end and who would like to be part of the brainstorming, please
do connect with me off the list. The CPD, a few legal professionals who have
worked in the space, a few bankers who are involved with the effort have
already signed up. Representatives from RBI and the DFS might also
participate. We are in talks with them. A representative from theSugamya
Bharat campaign is also likely to attend..

Limited seats for this initial meeting, so those interested in participating
in person please write to meon "[email protected]"

We have been waiting for long, it is high time we collectively take up
initiatives of our own to accelerate the implementation of the accessibility
guidelines.

Best,

George
