Hi All, Spacefelt is now available at a few university campuses ; NALSAR University of Law (Academic and Admin Blocks), Pondicherry University (Admin Block, School of Social Sciences and School of Humanities), and the University of Hyderabad (School of Social Sciences).
For students and faculty with visual impairment, scanning the QR codes through the Spacefelt app provides audio descriptions of where you are, what rooms are around you, the different levels on a floor, and an overall sense of the building layout. As a heads-up before entering, the Accessible Places option in the app gives basic orientation such as how many floors the building has, where the elevator and staircase are, and where the nearest washrooms are located. You can also check where the QR tags are placed — for example, on the left side of the entrance wall, above door knobs, or near elevator control buttons — so you know where to look for them. These QR tags can also be scanned using regular QR scanner apps. This is useful for deaf and hard of hearing users, who can access sign language videos and textual information, as well as for sighted users who prefer to view map layouts and written details. If you are a student or faculty member at any of these institutions, do try it out; would love to know your feedback. With regards, Aishwarya -- Disclaimer: 1.
