Checking Battery Status The fastest way is to use the JAWS command: Insert + Shift + B. JAWS will announce the remaining battery percentage and whether the laptop is plugged in. Alternatively, you can move focus to the Windows System Tray by pressing Windows Key + B, then use your arrow keys to find the battery icon. 2. Checking Internet Connection To check your status, press Insert + F12 to hear the time, or press it twice quickly to hear the date. However, for network specifics, press Windows Key + B to go to the System Tray and arrow over to the "Network" icon. JAWS will announce if you are "Connected" or "Not Connected." 3. Connecting to a Network 1. Press Windows Key + A to open the Quick Settings. 2. Use your arrow keys or Tab to find the "Network" (Wi-Fi) button. 3. Press Enter or Space to see the list of available networks. 4. Select your network from the list and follow the prompts to connect.
