Dear Mukesh,

Thank you so much for sharing this truly engaging interview of George Sir. It
was an absolute pleasure to watch, and it brought back many wonderful memories
for me. I first connected with him through the Eyeway radio show “Eyeway, Yeh
Hai Roshni Ka Karawan <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-52HhuGFhRs> ” and have
been fortunate to remain in touch with him over the years — through email,
phone calls, and WhatsApp. His personal journey is inspiring, but what
continues to amaze me is the scale and the heart behind everything he has done
for our community.

While most people know George Sir as the pioneering force behind blind cricket
in India, his work in creating awareness about blindness and empowering
visually impaired individuals goes far beyond the sporting world. The Eyeway
<https://www.youtube.com/@eyewayindia> radio show itself was a groundbreaking
initiative, originally aired from 17 November 2005 across major All India Radio
stations including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad —
each city broadcasting on different days and timings. Its reach extended not
just to these metros but also to numerous neighbouring towns and villages.

In 2013, he went on to conceptualise and produce the 13‑episode television
series “Nazar Ya Nazariya
<https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=nazar+ya+nazaria%2C+episode> ,”
broadcast nationally on Doordarshan National every Saturday at 9:30 AM,
beginning September 21. With Naseeruddin Shah
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naseeruddin_Shah> introducing each episode and
Harsh Chhaya <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harsh_Chhaya> anchoring the show,
it challenged misconceptions about blindness while highlighting real stories of
achievement and inclusion. Although specific TRP figures are not publicly
documented, its national broadcast slot and ongoing relevance reflect its
impact.

Beyond media, his organisation — Score Foundation
<https://www.eyeway.org.in/?q=node/1> — has been a source of guidance and
empowerment for thousands of visually impaired individuals nationwide. Through
Project Eyeway, their outreach has supported people with information and
counselling on laws, education, rehabilitation, employment, technology, and
advocacy, helping individuals navigate both opportunities and challenges in
daily life.

Importantly, Score Foundation also operates a national toll‑free helpline that
provides information, guidance and counselling to visually impaired people
across the country. Publicly available information lists two Eyeway helpline
numbers:

• 1800 532 0469 (toll‑free, operational 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday)

• 8800 00 4334 (also listed as a national Eyeway helpline number, operational
during similar hours)

The helpline team supports users with queries related to education, technology,
legal rights, government provisions, employment, accessible solutions, and more.

And on a lighter note — something many people may not know — George Sir is also
a wonderful entertainer. He’s an “out‑of‑the‑bathroom” singer, a passionate
guitar player, and several of his musical clips can be found on YouTube
<https://www.youtube.com/@georgeabraham7250> . These glimpses reveal a warm,
humorous, creative personality that adds yet another dimension to his
incredible body of work.

Your email and the video link were a beautiful reminder of just how much he has
contributed to our community — not only through sports or advocacy, but through
awareness, empowerment, storytelling, and a lifelong commitment to changing
mindsets.

Thank you once again for sharing this inspiring programme and keeping us
connected to such meaningful content.
