Hi Rahul, Thanks for detailing the issues you’re facing. Sharing my thoughts based on my day‑to‑day usage and what I’ve consistently seen documented across the Apple accessibility community. 1. Dictation not transcribing text I believe the issue here may be related to the gesture being used to start and stop dictation while VoiceOver is on. As per my usage and general best practice, the reliable way to use dictation with VoiceOver enabled is: • Focus on the edit/text field • Ensure editing mode is active • On the on‑screen keyboard, locate the Dictation (mic) button • Double tap the mic button to start dictation • Double tap the mic button again to stop dictation Once stopped, the spoken text should get inserted into the focused edit field. Using a two‑finger double tap typically maps to Play/Pause and may not consistently control dictation, which could explain the “thinking” behavior without transcription. 2. VoiceOver speaking notifications during calls For notifications being spoken while you’re on a call, you can control this via VoiceOver verbosity settings rather than relying solely on the three‑finger double tap. Please try the following: • Go to Settings → Accessibility → VoiceOver → Verbosity • Navigate to System Notifications • Set When Locked to Do Nothing • You can further customize how Banner notifications are handled based on your preference This should prevent VoiceOver from announcing notifications during calls and reduce the need to silence speech manually. Hoping the above helps resolve both challenges. Do let me know how it goes or if you’re seeing something different on your setup. First, many times when I do two finger double tap to put it into dictation mode so that I can dictate a message to it, after I am done dictating, the text actually does not get transcribed, and it simply says thinking. Second, when I am in a call, voice over start speaking about notifications that are coming in at that time. I try to turn the speech off by doing a three finger double tap in that situation. earlier this used to work, but now despite doing a three finger double tap, the speech doesn’t actually get turned off, and VoiceOver keeps speaking, nonetheless. what could be going wrong here Rahul Get Outlook for iOS -- Disclaimer: 1.
