Dear All,
St. Xavier’s College, XRCVC - Lake Shore
Extension is happy to announce an online workshop on the theme “Using
Standard Gmail with NVDA” under its Tech Roshni series – A step at bridging
the digital divide for blind and low vision persons.
Gmail has become an essential
communication tool for many screen reader users. With Google phasing out the
basic HTML view in early 2024, some users have found the transition to the
standard view challenging. However, this interface—aligned with other Google
Workspace applications—offers a modern design and a host of powerful features.
The good news? These features are fully
accessible through keyboard shortcuts provided by Google and supported by
screen readers.
In this one-hour workshop, we will dive
into Gmail’s standard view with NVDA, exploring practical and exciting features
that enhance usability and productivity. Join us to unlock a smoother, more
inclusive email experience!
Interested individuals should register for
the workshop on or before Thursday, 4 Jun 2026 by 6:00 PM IST using the
