Hi everyone, As many of you know, I developed VisionaryProgramming, an educational platform designed to teach computer science and coding concepts to visually impaired and blind students. I’m a 17-year-old developer who created and presented this accessibility-focused platform. VisionaryProgramming offers WCAG-aligned modules covering HTML, CSS, Python, JavaScript, and React. It also includes an AI tool that converts speech directly into code. For example, saying “print hello world” instantly generates working code. This makes programming more intuitive and accessible, especially for blind and visually impaired learners. The platform also provides a certificate upon completion and has been recognized as a Congressional App Challenge finalist (nationwide) and a Technovation semifinalist (global). I would like to get more feedback on the platform from visually impaired or blind students. However, I am going to be really busy over the next several weeks applying to a few major technology competitions, so late July or early August would be a better time to start when school comes back and starts again. If you are blind or visually impaired, you can also try out the app using this link: https://visionary-code-project.vercel.app/ and filling out the feedback form here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdZqvQjrog-aHh-NQCvLrRnfFijY8kQzfWlVQVYVB2awNqDzQ/viewform?usp=sharing <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdZqvQjrog-aHh-NQCvLrRnfFijY8kQzfWlVQVYVB2awNqDzQ/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=111734188189293293478> &ouid=111734188189293293478 I would also really like it if schools can start to use it in their computer science classes. If anyone has any connections with visually impaired or blind students who are interested in learning programming, or any technology/CS teachers of the visually impaired, please let me know or contact me through email at [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> . Your help can make all the difference in making a more inclusive world for tech! Best, Riya Shelar -- Disclaimer: 1.
