Dear Listeners, The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) has released a draft of new Scribe Guidelines, and it has raised serious concerns among visually impaired students and aspirants across the country. In this special episode of Radio Udaan, host Danish Mahajan is joined by four visually impaired students — Vajinder, Mahender, Sukhdeep, and Prince — who share their experiences and concerns on the draft guidelines, from failures in implementing previous guidelines to the challenges of mandatory assistive technology in examinations. Our special guests, Advocate Rahul Bajaj and Advocate Amar Jain, Co-Founders of Mission Accessibility, heard the students' concerns and provided clear, practical guidance on how each one of us can draft and send an effective representation to the government on the draft guidelines. We urge every student, parent, educator, and advocate to listen to this episode and send their feedback to DEPwD before the deadline.
