We are glad to share Episode 4 of our series marking ten years of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, in conversation with Padma Shri Rajdeep Sardesai, senior journalist, author and Consulting Editor at the India Today Group.

Disability rarely makes the headlines, and when it does, it is too often framed as tragedy or as inspiration rather than as a question of rights. In this press conference style episode, a panel puts the questions directly to him: how newsrooms decide what counts as news, why accessibility and representation stay off the front page, and what a decade of awareness-building under the Act has genuinely delivered.

Hosted by Danish Mahajan, with questions from Advocate Rahul Bajaj, Co-founder, Mission Accessibility; Dr. Sunil Pahlajani, philanthropist; Tanya Verma, Research Fellow, Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy; and Shruti Pushkarna, journalist and disability rights activist.

The episode carries Indian Sign Language interpretation throughout, so the conversation is accessible to every viewer.
