Greetings AI listers,

Klango Player, is essentially an accessible multimedia center.
The Klango Player is one of a kind in the way it uses and combines an
aural interaction, sound, speech synthesis, media, internet, social functions
and more.

Since there is not much information given on the website, I am listing here
only the importent features. If you are interested in it, you can download the
software, install it, and then find information by going to start menue >
programs > Klango Player > readme.

        * Klango Player uses synthesisers in SAPI 4 and SAPI 5 formats.
        * Screen-reader software is not required.
        * Klango Player should work fine when screen-reader is turned on.
        * One can create Klango Accounts in the Setup Menu of the Player.
        * Klango is classroom-ready -- it feels good in a multiuser environment.
        * the Klango.Net website gives you an access to the some of the
functions of the Player.

1. Besides playing files, the Klango Player can play also internet radio
stations, audio books and podcasts. For you, the primary source of them is the
Open Media Catalogue available in the program's menu. The catalogue contains
tenths of thousands addresses grouped by attributes (tags) like region of
origin, style of music or topic. There are also several special categories, for
example "last added", "most popular", "last played" and so on.

2. Klango Player plays media from the internet (the "Media" menu) and from
local drives (the "Files" menu) using advanced streaming and decompression
procedures.
The unique feature of the program is that the majority of the
most significant playback and recording functions are available for all media
types: radio stations, podcasts, audio books and files. For example:
• (with the spacebar) you can pause and resume not only files but even live
radio stations,
        • (with the R key) you can record fragments of content of all media to
the mp3 files,
        • (with the right and left arrows) you can jump forward and backward in
a file but also in a directly played podcast and in a stream of live radio
station,
        • (with control up/down/left arrows) you can adjust the speed of
playback even for podcasts and live radio stations,
        • (with the control right arrow) you can go fast forward with prelisten,
        • (with shift up/down/left arrows) you can use a "time compression"
effect for all types of media. The Player can play all popular types of files
and playlists and tenths of other formats.

3. The community of Klango and social features of the program are the
second face of the Klango Player.

Private messages. Klango users use them to communicate with themselves.
It's a fast and secure way of messaging.
Forum (or forums to be precise). It is a place of open
discussion available for all Klango users.
Shared notes. All Klango users can write their own text notes and save
them on a local, their own computers. There is, however, also a possibility to
save the notes on the (our) server.
"Who's online?" function. It brings to you a list of currently
logged-in users (who don't hide themselves with the appropriate profile
setting).
List of "My Contacts". During reading the forum posts or private
messages you can add their authors to your contacts' list.
MicroBlog. You can create, edit and delete entries of your blog through
the "Klango Network" menu of the Player.

4. It's also a software platform for developing and publishing unique
accessible software solutions.
At the time of writing the set of available programs consists of:

        • a novel educational program "Klango MathTools" with great
programmable (social!) calculator and unique audio graphs of functions,
        • two addictive audio games: "Long Jump" (we have an olimpic year after
all) and "Dice Poker" and
        • an innovative, prototype interactive multimedia presentation
"SoundScape - Zawisza Czarny".

These programs (and generally all Klango Programs) are separate
applications with their own readme files, menus, helps and keyboard shortcuts.

Regards
