If it is not already too late to help you with a decision on this phone, I can certainly recommend it. I have been using one for the last 4 months. Tried to answer your questions one by one:
1. No issues with Talks compatibility that I found so far. 2. Internal memory is too good at 128 mb. Plus you also get a 2GB memory card free with the phone. 3. Image and video quality is the best in the market at this moment. Auto focus facility means even blind persons can take reasonably good photographs at short range. Just point and shoot. 4. GPS: the built-in GPS application Nokia Maps is free but not accessible. Nokia Maps for India are not detailed either. WayFinder Access can be purchased additionally but is not yet being sold in India. 5. Sound quality is excellent. Can definitely used extensively for music playback with equalizers and such. I am told N81 has better sound quality though. Also N82 has a standard 3.5mm stereo jack. So you can connect headphone of your choice. 6. Hardly any lockups. 7. No experience of scanning. KNFB Reader Mobile is too expensive for my needs. 8. Any other issues? May be battery backup could have been better. 9. No idea what the prevailing price is.
