The University on the outset appears to be a good initiative though many of us may not agree with the concept of an exclusive University for the disabled.
The worrying factor however is that Shakuntala Mishra is the mother of Satish Mishra, a very close Aid of the CM (that is the information I have) . Will the so called University project at Lucknow be a channel for diverting Govt funds. Secondly, if the University has to be setup, I would think that the UGC would need to be involved in some ways to ensure that some quality standards would be set. So the questions to be asked are 1. Is this a venture to divert funds? 2. Does the Shakuntala Mishra Trust have the know how to establish a specialised Univ for the disabled? 3. Will this project be a charity that has no concern with quality standards? These are some genuine apprehensions.
