EnableAll.org is a project conceived by Enabling Dimensions Pte. Ltd., a
company formed by small group of Indian IT professionals and modeled on the
principles
of social entrepreneurship.
EnableAll Vision
To empower people with disabilities improve their quality of life through
acquisition of relevant skills, tools and information. We envision EnableAll to
become a ‘Distance Learning Institute’ imparting ‘new skills for new economy’,
leveraging ICTs for content creation and distribution because of ICT’s reach,
cost-effectiveness, universal accessibility and bias-free environment.
EnableAll Initiative
EnableAll.org was envisioned as an online, self-help community for people with
disabilities that leverages Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
Some of the important features are listed below.
1. Competitive Quest Demo
Try out the demo of our self-learning CD-ROM – ‘Competitive Quest’ (CQ) that
helps you prepare for
Competitive Examinations like UGC Net, B.Ed. entrance, MAT, UPSC, Bank PO and
others. CQ covers common subjects like, English, General Knowledge, Reasoning
and Teaching Aptitude. Content has been written by university lecturers. Each
subject has an overview and a question bank of around thousand typically
asked questions based on previous years papers, to help you practice and assess
your performance. And, the CD is easy to use even for screen-reader users!
2. Links & Addresses:
You can find in this section links to websites of important educational
institutes, addresses of rehabilitation centers and employment exchanges,
located
in the various states of India.
3. Job Resources:
This section provides information that will help you in your search for a
preferred job.
4. Scholarships:
Information about various scholarship programmes for education and research in
India and abroad.
5. OBS Publications:
Getting started with assistive technology.
6. The QUEST:
A fortnightly update, to help you prepare for competitive examinations.
7. Tech FAQ:
Find answers to problems most frequently encountered by people with visual
disabilities while using computers and computer applications.
8. Laws & Conventions:
Indian and International Laws and Conventions on education and employment for
people with disabilities.
9. The CAB:
Be it the latest economic growth statistics, the national awards, or the
passing of a new bill by parliament, there is a decent chance that you will find
it in The CAB.
