good evening accessindia!

please do note, that the views i'm gonna share here in this email, are
my personal opinions ( no monopoly, so dont sue me for anything
*smiles*)

when buying a laptop, i'd say, always go for the best configuration
and make the list of hardwares you seriously will be useing. ( why pay
extra 500 rupees for a webcam which, you rairly ever use? )

my pick for a best hardware configuration will be hp.
it is so, because of the heat management system used in hp.
here, i'd like to tell u, that AMD processors are way, way faster then
intel. but they are loosing only in 1 field, " heating problams"
anyways, so the point is, more heat, can slow down your over all
processing speed, so keep that in mind.
dell's do not have many service centers in india, and + if going for
dell, go for the latitude series, and not the inspire
i, my self is useing compaq desktop from last 9 years and, get
surprised, its still working
i, here do not have any specific model number to tell you, but please
note down the following important points if buying a laptop.

if you can spend up to rupees 55000 and spend some time to research,
you may get the latest, and the best configuration according to the
modern technology.
also, remember, if you go to a shop and provide your specifications,
some models are also not known to the vender. in such cases, he'd go
like, " your cconfigurations are of high standards, and are not found
in this budget range"
so, always, surely, check with 2/3 venders before getting to final selection.

following things can be expected in a good, fast, reliable,
accessible, friendly laptop.

processor : 2.0 ghz intel, cor 2 duo. ( ghz == giga hurts)
just for the information, a 2.0 ghz processer, can perform around
nearly 20000000 calculations per second ( pretty fast already, huh?)
1/2 gv of ram, depending on your use.
(big applications, such as OCR's ( text to speech softwares like
Kurzweil 1000 needs good memory. so if you are going to scan books
etc, go for bigger ram)
info: o c r== optical character recognition ( used in all softwares
which scans books to read to you)
lanecard, and lane port. ( this is very useful if you are connecting
from a dsl, or have networking environment in office)
bluetuth ( good for transferring data to and from other devices if needed)
wireless card ( make sure that your laptop can connect to wireless networks)
USB ports ( 2 and above are better )
info: USB == universal serial buss.
check if your laptop have microphone in build ( some do, some do not.
so its better to check)
also, check if your laptop have firewire port ( video out ports, in
simple words, can your laptop connect to the projectors and other
display devices for presentations? )
exact specifications such as dimensions, thickness, wate and screen
size. ( always good to keep the info)
size of hard drive ( according to use. a normal person can do pretty
good with around 120 gb)
rpm's/ rotations per minit of the hardDrive ( the faster the rpm, the
better the data retrieval rate)
card reader
dvd- combo drive, ( using which, you can read, write both cd's and dvd's. )
some details of the speakers are good to know.
before submitting your request to your office ( if they are going to
buy u the laptop) contact 2/3 local vender and provide him with your
specifications, they may be of a good help to you.

contact number of the support desk, in case you need help with
anything while your laptop is in guaranty period.
also, starting with new laptop, try not to install softwares in the
same drive in which your operating system is installed ( good for
better access time and faster booting speeds)
remember, the life of any computer is its ram and processor. they are
also most expensive, but most important.
