Hi,
First, I am giving a possible solution regarding the problems arising with scripts. For accessing the settings, there is a specific key command. I dont recall it, but you can find out by pressing insert + h while focused on the gtalk window. The settings dialogue box contains a set of options that you can change by pressing tab after selecting that particular option. For contacts, some times, it is necessary to press the right arrow so that you are in the search field and press the left arrow again to reach and subsequently scroll through the contacts list. If this doesn't work, alt tab away from the window and then return back. Tip: in the settings, ticking the box for making only online contacts available makes things easier. Now, for the alternative solution. Actually, its possible to chat through gmail it self even with a screen reader. This is possible if you are using Firefox. The reason is because speech output support in Google applications is implemented using Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA), an evolving standard for enhancing the accessibility of Web-2.0 applications. Gmail and others are of course, web-2.0 based applications. WAI-ARIA is supported only by Firefox — with future support forthcoming in other browsers. To know how to chat from with in gmail using a screen reader, read this useful blog entry. http://www.marcozehe.de/2008/08/06/aria-in-gmail-2-enhancing-the-chat-experience/ --- On Wed, 8/27/08, bijoy sukumaran <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > From: bijoy sukumaran <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: [AI] Jaws script for google talk > To: [email protected] > Date: Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 9:37 PM > Hai folk, > I am in need of a good script for Google talk. > I have used a script called j7 gt script but dissatisfied. > I am using jaws 8 kindly suggest me an alternative > Join Access India convention: For updates on it visit: > http://accessindia.org.in/harish/convention.htm > Registration is now open! > > To unsubscribe send a message to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the subject > unsubscribe. > > To change your subscription to digest mode or make any > other changes, please visit the list home page at > > http://accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/accessindia_accessindia.org.in Join Access India convention: For updates on it visit: http://accessindia.org.in/harish/convention.htm Registration is now open!
