It is quite possible that you may have disabled the CD drive accidently. To 
fix it, if that be the case, go to the properties of your computer, in the 
hardware tab, in device manager, locate your cursor on CD/DVD drive and 
right click it and there in you can check whether it is enabled or disabled.

Hello list members,

The "My Computer" folder of my laptop is not displaying the CD drive for 
more than a month now. As a result, I am not able to access any CD's in my 
laptop. I would be thankful if anyone comes up with a solution to this
