Folks: Following is perhaps the first step in bringing a cure for RP. I am personally involved in the project and can tell you that it is run by those serious about bringing a cure and is lead by Mr. Ramachandran, a corporate official cum philanthropist who is not interested in giving aids for the blind but giving eyesight. He is working in collaboration with an ophthalmic specialist who is coordinating the whole thing. Pl respond to it as early as possible, since we need to get the registary ready by November. Subramani Dear Sir / Madam, SUB : RP PATIENTS REGISTRY We are planning to set up an advanced Research Centre in Bangalore to treat RP Patients from all over India in collaboration with a well known RP Advanced Institute in USA. Further we will start trials on Retinal Implants in India, the forerunner in this venture will be Narayana Nethralaya & Other prominent Eye Hospitals in Bangalore. In this context, we need to prepare and maintain a Registry of RP patients in every State including Karnataka.. This should be a web based registry giving patients complete history and details which will be kept strictly confidential.
