Well, UGC circular does not talk specifically of bringing one's own scribe, but 
use of computers. One
should be able to bringing scribe of choice, but bodies are thwarting it. Issue 
can be addressed unequivocally only by national guidelines which are in the 
pipeline. till then, good luck...

Tell them that no written instruction of UGC also prohibits bringing in one's 
own scribe.
