Dear Friends, The Judgement is very valid as it expresses its concern on spreading of Leprosy (in its communicable form) - meaning thereby that it is active leprosy.
However, once cured, Leprosy Cured Person is covered as a Person with Disability in the Disability Act-1995 provided his disability exceeds 40% after due medical assessment. And disability is not a disqualification to hold any Public Office. So, we can keep our faith still on the legal acumen of the Honorable judges!! regards 2008/9/24 Dinesh Kaushal <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > I don't think Supreme Court is talking about ex Leprosy patients, I guess > it > is about those who still have Leprosy, and since it can spread, it seems a > valid judgement.
