Readers -housewives who volunteered to read for us- learnt Braille
themselves and even bought Braille typewriters from their relatives in
the US (in those days) to convert books into braille.

Blind students teach Braille script to MP school students

Bhopal (PTI): In a novel experiment of its kind, students from two
well-known schools in the city, on Tuesday learned from four blind
students how to read
the Braille script.

The experiment took place at the Variety Book House in the local GTB
complex and the two also exchanged views on former President A P J Abdul
Kalam's book
"Parwaaz."

The experiment was conducted by "Aarushi" a non-governmental
organisation in the shop's Braille corner which was set up on February 4
this year.

Executive Director of Aarushi, Sapna Gupta told PTI that under the
Braille book reading session, four blind students--Kamal Damhore,
Rajendra Dhurve, Manish
Agarwal and Deepika Shukla exchanged views with 25 select students from
the Sanskar Valley and Carmel convent schools.

She said that portions of Kalam's book in Braille were read out by the
blind students and its intricacies wereexplained to students of the two
schools.
