as regard to all in one scanners H.P 4180 or 4185 which may cost you around 4000 to 5000. any flat bed scanner in built in an all in one machine with a D.P.I of around 2400 shall do your work of book scanning. if you would like to scan photos you have to go for a scanner of around 4800 D.P.I which shall serve our purpose. any way kurzweil uses only up to 400 D.P.I so any normal scanner is OK
