All those steps are correct except that when you are connecting to a phone
for the first time via bluetooth, you need to pair with that device. It
means that you need to enter the same passcode in both the phones so as to
make sure that no one else connects to your phone without your knowledge.

Hi, the simplest way to send a file via Bluetooth is:
1.
go to the desired file, but do not open it, as some of the mobiles do not
have an option to send, once you open a file.
2.
Select options, and scroll to send sub menu, and select it.
3.
When you select the send option, you will get some options such as via
multi media, via infrareds,and via Bluetooth.
4.
Select the option, via Bluetooth.
5.
If your Bluetooth is not on, then the phone will give you a message
asking, " Bluetooth is currently switched off, switch on now? "
6.
Select yes, and the phone will start searching for other available
Bluetooth devices.
7.
Once it will finish searching, a list of all the available Bluetooth
devices will be presented.
8.
Select the desired Bluetooth device and just select it by pressing the
okay button.
9.
Remember, the Bluetooth device to which you are sending the file is on, as
it will not show an option to on the Bluetooth automatically like it asked
while sending. The Bluetooth device to which you are sending the file,
will get a message asking" receive message from... ? " Select the
yes/accept button and it will start sending the file.
