What types of books are available through Bookshare.org to me?
As a Bookshare India Member you will have access to all those publications and
periodicals for which Bookshare has global permits and India permits. Currently
there are over 6000 Titles that you will have access to (4000 public domain
books and 2000 for which Bookshare has specific global permission). We are sure
that this will keep growing in the coming years.

The reason why currently the number of titles available to Indian Members would
be lesser than those available globally is because of Copyright law
restrictions. The Indian Copyright laws only permit those books to be
circulated for which specific copyright permissions have been obtained. Hence
this list is limited only to those publications whose copyright holders have
given Bookshare permission to convert and share their titles in accessible
formats to print disabled persons.

How much does it cost?
Bookshare is starting Indian Memberships at highly subsidized rates to benefit
the print disabled community in India. The current membership fees will cost
you Rs 400 with no per-book download charges for your annual subscription.

What restrictions will be placed on my use of the books I obtain from
Bookshare.org?

Members are permitted to use Bookshare.org books for their own personal use. We
use Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology and contractual agreements with
our members to maximize personal access to books and minimize abuse of this
privilege. Bookshare.org copyrighted books are not available to the
non-disabled public. Any misuse and illegal share of books by members will lead
to termination of their membership and potential legal action

How do I use my Bookshare Membership and what am I permitted to use?
